Berkeley City Council should be ashamed! How could anyone in America be so brazen as to call the defenders of our free nation unwelcome in our free nation? Perhaps the liberal council has a short term memory disorder. Perhaps they are unable to recognize that they live in a Hitler free, non-USSR, non-Colonial, civilized and free society in great part due to the blood of Marines and members of our other armed forces. All of whom voluntarily defended our freedoms at the expense of their wives and mothers' tears.
The article above references a remark by the council claiming that they didn't want their sons to die in this war. I ask the council then, should we then disband the volunteer military and send everyone’s sons and daughters home? Of Course not, the citizens and council of the beautiful and affluent communities of Berkeley would never dare to leave the west coast defense-less. No they just prefer that mothers from Oakland, Watts, and other black or impoverished communities sacrifice their sons for the cause of freedom. How dare the Marine Corps infringe upon the rights of the white to enjoy low-carb gelatos, walks in the park, metal detector free schools and college educations!!
Berkeley be careful you’re letting your hoods show. Such actions should not be taken lightly. Here you have an entire community that has banned together to make a statement that upon deeper reflection gleams a dim beam of light into the communities less talked about feelings. They may not support the war in Iraq, for that matter neither do I, but to refuse to allow the volunteer forces that defend us all against all enemies foreign and domestic is an extreme position and action whose true motives are being disguised by the adoption of a popular sentiment regarding an unfavorable war.
I say that their veil is too thin and the ugliness of their true sentiments is quite apparent upon close inspection.

Arlen Specter
How during this time of campaigning for President. A time when both parties are attempting to put their best candidate for this nation’s highest public office forward. A time when the most important principles of American Culture are being debated and strategies discussed. How do we at this time have such a notable public official such as one Arlen Specter concern himself with the trivialities of Spygate. No not Watergate, or those shady land deals of the Clinton's, or those very suspicious closed no bid contract for all the Bush buddies. No, Spygate, the little asterisk to the thus far 18-0 season of the NFL's New England Patriots.
This is such an affront to good sense that I'm fighting the sensation of nausea, just from actually having to contemplate what possible merits a move such as Specter's may have. The only sensible conclusion I could arrive at is that it is at best irresponsible of him to waste an opportunity for a free headline to promote his Football teams over his political team. As the heavyweights of politics discuss poverty, war, economics, healthcare, policy, and management. Specter wants to discuss, oh and not for free we're talking about on the tax payers’ dime, football. And not a discussion of the possible conspiracy to cover up or conceal or harbor an illegal subculture, as was presumably the case with the steroid hearings. No, this time the concern is why evidence of photographing defensive gestures was destroyed. This "evidence" is evidence of a violation of League regulations not State or Federal Statues. As far as I am aware the tapes were all containing images of adults (over 18) and mostly with there clothes on. Perhaps with the exception of a topless defensive lineman or two. No children, no animals, no cups, and no sex. Perhaps the Senators time would be better spent perusing the makers of the 2 girls and 1 cup reaction tapes who display reactions of the elder and young after viewing the aforementioned clip.
I feel that it is more appropriate to deem the Senators move as an abuse of power and office. I believe his comments and behavior is the real violation here. Presumably, the Senator true motives lie in his views regarding the anti-trust issue with the NFL and its TV network. I argue though that using ones position of authority regarding one arena to force an outcome in another is a violation of ethics, and the trust the American people put in their elected officials and senior member of the Senate.
Go Giants!!!!!

Pseudo-Civic Leaders
This blog is inspired by a Wall Street Journal article by Christopher Cooper, et. al. Which can be read by accessing this link http://online.wsj.com/article/SB120105705756408791.html?mod=googlenews_wsj .
I read this article and it made some sentiments which I have been ranting about all week already, simmer over. I am well past frustrated and sick of the political and economic powers of America fleecing the sheep of the African American Communities and even further disgusted by the pseudo-civic leaders who profit from it.
The large corporations and political forces in America have enabled the worst kind of people to empower themselves in our communities. Today's leaders mobilize people with words and messages that invoke the legacies of Dr. King and Jesus only to then sell their new resource for personal prestige and economic gain. My view is that is only persist because ranters such as myself are rather individualized and therefore not powerful in terms of momentum in economic and political arenas which are tally based systems where quantity is always more valuable than quality. The pseudo-civic leaders have, in my view, violated the legacy of the aforementioned notables by invoking their spirit and selling their influence to the highest bidder. They preach on platforms, but the only true ideal they hold, it seems is that of personal promotion and affluence.
I become increasingly disgusted by this fleecing of our community. They take the elder and spiritual minded, and use these peoples efforts to commune with God and explore their faith and spirituality to exploit the position as Church leader to sway the social network toward which ever effort is most profitable. This is the most egregious exploitation of the African American community since slavery. What do the people gain? Maybe a bigger church??? Who holds the deed??? in Trust????
People often don't realize themselves as commodities but corporations and politicians certainly do and they know exactly who brokers the goods which they require. So they pull out the pocket books and right checks to all the "first blacks" and wait for the returns.
"First Blacks"? You may ask what is he talking about?
Well my friends I consider the "First Blacks" to be the first black person male or female to have done anything. In black communities these individuals typically are held in a position of high regard, especially by older African Americans who have suffered much at the hands of racism and hold a certain amount of esteem for one of "their own" that was able to break through the white establishment to do something previously never done by a person of color. It is my experience that most often the first black is not the problem. Yet, it is the legacy holders of the first black, the sons, daughters, wives, and close friends of the first black who use the legacy to turn the accomplishment of the few into the detriment of the many.
I mean King's papers to become property of the people cost 20 million dollars??? The church of a poor loving Jew becomes one of the Richest and most influential institutions in the world????
I'm aghast and deeply mortified by the perversion of Faith, love, and fellowship among people, with particular interest to that of the African American into a culture for hire.
